Expansion Plan

New access to the Eastern Dock and completion of the marina

In April 2008 and after public competition, the Administrative Board of the Málaga Port Authority decided to restructure access to the Eastern Dock and complete the Marina, awarding the project to the Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas company.

The budget granted amounts to 12.900.000 €. The deadline for carrying out the work is 24 months, according to guidelines laid down when the competition was announced.

The above will be carried out with the aim of facilitating communications from the new Passenger terminal and the future marina as well as improving facilities which will house the Eastern Dock marina.

This marina will relieve the high demand for moorings which the province receives today, and will be complemented by the marina and dry stack boat storage area planned for the San Andrés area. The managing company of the Eastern marina will be decided by public competition.

North Berth

The construction of the second berth that will serve the passenger terminal will start opertations in the spring of 2009, connecting through a gateway to the building of the Eastern Maritime Passenger Terminal. The budget amounts to 10.848.000 €.
